Overnight Home Care

Overnight Home Care Support

Your Care provides overnight in-home support when night time assurance is required. It is a cost-effective and flexible alternative to placing your loved one into a residential respite facility.

Clients can rest assured that a carer is sleeping in the next bedroom, available if needed on a low dependency basis. You can leave written or provide verbal instructions on commencement of the overnight stay. In the morning, expect handover of how the night went, information on what the carer has noticed. Your Care is about delivering seamless support.

Overnight Tasks

Night time support level vary and may include:

  • Reassurance or emotional support
  • Personal or continence care
  • Waking up to take medication
  • Being re-positioned or turned in bed
  • Toileting supervision/safety
  • Temperature control
  • Blood sugar checks
  • Staying hydrated

When booking the overnight stay, a care requirement assessment will be completed to ensure that overnight support is delivered in a safe manner. Higher levels of support may require active overnight care.

What is Live-in Home Care?

Live-In Home Care provides seniors with full-time, around the clock care. Clients and their families can have peace of mind with reliable, live-in Support Workers that monitor safety, attend to any immediate or daily needs and provide companionship.

Many people over the age of 65 report that they wish to age in place, at home. However, frailty, chronic illness or forgetfulness can make living alone too difficult. In these cases, live-in care allows your loved one to remain in the comfort of his or her home and maintain as much independence as possible while ensuring the highest level of safety. With full-time, around the clock care, a Support Worker is always watching over your loved one, offering emotional support, reducing fall risk and assisting in all activities of daily living including:

  • Cooking and light housekeeping.
  • Laundry and change of bed linens.
  • Grocery shopping and errands.
  • Companionship and range of motion exercise.
  • Bathing, dressing and grooming assistance.
  • Transportation to doctor appointments, supermarket, pharmacy.
  • Assisting with walking and transfer from bed to wheelchair.
  • Status reporting to family.
  • Medication reminders.

Who is it for?

Overnight support is ideal for the person who lives alone and wants to remain in their own home. It can also provide peace of mind for family members – to know that their loved one has someone in the house at night to monitor and care for them as needed.

Sleepover support is also a way to provide respite for the regular carer – who can enjoy a night out or away knowing that their loved one is well cared for. Your Care provides overnight support for NDIS participants and people who return home from hospital following surgery.

Where to from here?

No referral is necessary.

Overnight support can be extended to include additional early evening and morning hours. This is an efficient approach to achieving care consistency by engaging a single carer.

to recommend HomCare"

Client Review

We have had the pleasure of using HomCare service from the end of November until the beginning of March.

Communication was easy and efficient with excellent flexibility. John has made great recovery from his stroke so we are now looking to the future and what he may need. We would not hesitate to recommend HomCare. (Paulo Weribbee)
